Happy New Year!

Is it me, or did 2022 fly by in a hot second?
Here's hoping that I can slow down time and enjoy the rollercoaster that this year is supposed to look like. I generally don't make New Year's resolutions because it seems impersonal. It's the thing that everyone feels they should do. This year is different. I have a lot of goals to accomplish, which line up nicely.
First, I want to become a faster writer. Although I'm a good and fast typist, I can't seem to reach my goal of 2k/hour. I write full-time and can write up to write 10k daily, but that hasn't happened in a while. I've picked up a book on how to write faster, so we'll see how that goes.
I'm also desperate to travel out of the country. The pandemic did nothing to squash the desire to explore new places. It only gave me time to get my absolute dream-trip list in order. I'm not sure where I'll go, but the next trip will be a walking one assuming my clumsy self doesn't get injured on the first day of the trip. Yes, that's happened more than once, though I always manage to enjoy myself.
Of course there are the obligatory weight loss and exercise goals, as well as the find happiness in the journey, blah blah blah, kinds.
Mostly, I want to be a kind person. When I'm gone, I want to be remembered as someone who made people feel good about themselves, someone who left a positive, indelible mark. Whether I'm nurturing friends or meeting new readers, I want to be a good person to you.
Cough, cough.
Enough mushiness, and back to business. Don't forget to pre-order Scorching Magik, book two in the Black Cauldron Detective Agency series, due out on February 1.
